Just wanted to get some opinions on some loads for a cva accura v2 50cal. My dad drew a tag for a big bull on the lasal mtn never hunted elk with a muzz just deer any info will be appreciated. thanks to all

Barnes 290 gr TMZ using 100-120 grains of Blackhorn 209 and swap out the barnes sabots for Harvester boattail crush rib sabots (yellow)

I've used 250 grain TEZ pushed by 100 gr of 777 on deer and would use the same load on elk out to 150 yards. I also shoot the accura old style though.

I use a 290 Barns T-EZ, the blue sabot in front of 110 gr BH 209 for deer and elk just past 200 yards in an Omega. They don't move much after.

That barnes bullet in either the 250g or 290g is hard to beat.

Thanks to everyone for the info, it sounds like BH 209 is the powder to use over pellets. I thinks i will stick to the 295gr power belt if i can get good groups at a 100yds. Thanks again to all who replied

thats not a good bullet for elk. If you want to use a powerbelt, i suggest the 338gr platinum powerbelt.

I personally am using the 250gr Thor conical " Full bore barnes" with 100gr blackhorn209.

Check this out, Your V2 will mod this slight mod and you especially will love it.

Also, they make a special breech plug now, western powders sells it and it was designed to work with BH209 flawlessly. BUY IT!
