This is not a sales pitch or product plug (pardon the pun!)

I was browsing the Cabela's Archery catalog last light and ran across this particular product - the "Butt Out Tool."

I almost died laughing. What sicko would devise such a sadastic tool? I have cut out the rectum in exactly 1 out of probably 100 deer I have dressed out. Though the books show how to do this, I have never found it necessary. The extra work have never been worth the trouble and risk of dirtying up meat.

When the animal has been gutted out, I alway grab the lower intestine and slide the contents towards the stomach to clear a 8-10" section out with no poop. Then slice it and tie a knot.

Would people actually buy this product?

I hear they have quite a following in the California market especially now that the legislature passed their new law.

I think this is a knock off of the portable cat carrier that was showing up on the internet a few years ago.

Seriously, I have no idea who would buy it or why cabelas would carry it.

Anyone that has butchered deer would know that it would be ridiculous at best.

Those were originally marketed as an ATV accessory to be stuck up through the bottom side of a four-wheeler seat so Utards wouldn't slide off thier quads when side-hilling around trail closure signs.

Buckspy, that is damn funny!!! Had me laughing for a while, along with this thread......

Designed for those dildo's like Jackie "scared of snakes" Bushwoman who don't know how to field dress an animal.

That is some screwed up sh*&!!!! Pun fully intended and would fit in well at the local queer bar. Pun also intended. Kilowatt what about TV star Bushman not being able to gut a deer. Any video of it?

"Beside the Nuge, have you ever seen any of the hunters dress an animal?"

I've seen Tred Barta gut a elk before.

Sliding the poop and tying the distal large intestine would be alright for a short period, but I would not personally be comfortable with leaving it that way for several days of a deer hanging. Even though you remove the poop, the bacteria are still there and could move to the meat. Granted the exposure is reduced, but not eliminated.

Don't think I will ever use this tool, but I always cut out the rectum and shove back through the pelvic canal to remove. If you are careful, there won't be any contamination. JMO

KW...Good Point...but would still rather watch any hunting/fishing show over some goofy a&* reality show or sitcom supporting queers and dope use...

I learned this trick from a co-worker.

- Cut around the BH
- Pull it out
- Zip-tie it closed
- Push it back through

Easier said than done.
