NV area 033 sheldon ?????

I have hunted all over NV and have seen great deer out of 033 but have never been there. I am takeing my nephew hunting for his first time this year and the little fella drew 033. Does anyone have some info on where to start looking? Wouldnt mind starting him off right!!

depending on what your looking for.?
Youre sure to see deer at round mountain, maybe nothing too big
unless you go late.
The top of catnip canyon on the north side of catnip mountain
usually holds deer also
check the mahoghanies on the east of catnip.
and a million other places, but can't share them all.

Cant share??? Its for a kids first buck. I promise to forget where it is as soon as the seasons are over....Just kidn....I have my secret spots also. I am looking for a place where we can see numbers of deer to keep him interested and not be bored with it. Would like to get a good buck though.

I've never hunted the Sheldon, but camp up there at Deffurena ponds a few times a year. It is extremely dry up there this year, snowpack was basically gone by March. As for deer numbers, Badger Mtn.

There are alot of tables in this country. If youre looking for a big buck hunt the rimrocks around the tables and the breaks and drainages that come off the tables. You might not see the numbers of deer and youll have to do alot of walking but I think your odds of finding a good one will be increased.

I would have to agree with all the other posts. I hunted there last season and saw deer in all those places. You won't have problems finding deer. If this year is anything like last year, you will have trouble finding a big buck. 2005 was the best year up there. 2006 was really slow.

I think your helping a friend of mine with 195. I hunted Sheldon in 01 for antelope and 03 for muzzleloader deer.My muzzleloader buck scored 171. What tag does your nephew have? I will give you a call. JB
