Just out of curiosity, anybody have any pictures of bulls harvested out of the Ashland area 704??

LAST EDITED ON Aug-27-12 AT 11:26PM (MST)[p]I know where the big bulls are but it will cost you. : ). Ran in to a herd of about 60 (7 bulls) when I was deer hunting last year. If I would have had the rifle tag a 370 + bull would be on my wall right now. I drew a good rifle tag this year but it's only good about 200 miles north of Ashland. You might have better luck over on onyourownadventures.com. It's more of a MT crowd. Or try Spaz over on the Montana forum here on mm. He will show you some pics but you will never know where he was or have the same amount of time as he spends out and about.

Btw, did you just move to mt from ut by chance?

Ashland got some studs. I dont have pictures nor have had the actual tag in hand. However, know people who have and seen the bulls... All the bulls Ive seen where in the 370 class and shot on public, but I hear the private is way better.

Good luck on your tag up in the breaks. Mabey see you up there. Got a breaks tag as well.

Ashland has some great bulls. The rife tag is both blessing and curse. You may find the bull of a lifetime or you could eat your tag. One good friend of mine took a near 400 bull the first week of the season and another hunted his back side off for 20 days and never found a good bull and saw very few elk. The aria is weather dependent. If it is hot and dry it is hard to find elk. It is much better with snow. This year much of the best elk arias went up in smoke. The burned arias could be real good if we get fall rain and there is a green up. If I had the tag and there is little rain I would hunt the ground between the big fires. Right now there are tough fire restions in place and some aria will be hard to get to.

Sorry about the spelling. Never could get the hang of it. Sorry about the bull pic as my buddy is not going to want them posted. A few years back a guy posted a set of sheds from the bull. I think it was a 7 by 8 set with a broken browtine.
