more elk tags????

can someone shed some light on this? late season cow hunts have been a hunt my family and i look forward to every year(if we draw) this year i got one of these tags i only had 2 points. then after the draw the fish and game gave out a couple hundred
over the counter tags. should i be mad and should they give points back? ya the area is big but not that big

It definitely doesn't seem right that you had to use your bonus points to get the same thing someone else got OTC.

i guess i should say it is a later the date last hunt is a week before mine

It was an after thought by the biologists. They feared the drought would affect the winter range negatively and too many elk would be devastating to the forage. As far as the points go, you got what you put in for, if you didn't draw and couldn't get a tag for some unknown reason ie. overloaded/crashed system would you trade your points for an extra tag?

Muleymonster you are right i did get what i put in for but 800 more tags before the hunt otc. i dont know maybe i should just be glad i got one.
