Try any of the main drainages deep into the roadless area.South facing slopes along the ridge tops in the morning. If the road is clear of snow go into the roadless area from the top, expect long hikes, bring a backpack to carry out the meat bring help also. If you have to go into the roadless area from the bottom expect longer hikes and bring more help. Don't take to long of shot it's farther across those canyons than you think.If you spot a herd and its to far come back the next morning from a better angle they won't move much.
I love the Dutton cow hunts very physically challenging and remote but rewarding when successful.
