LAST EDITED ON Aug-02-07 AT 09:35PM (MST)[p]Been seeing a lot of bad news, and bad blood flowing the last few days. So I thought I'd be the little ray of sunshine. I'll be hunting muleys in October, then flingin' arrows at whiteys over Thanskgiving. Oh yeah, the best news, next family vacation is hopefully going to be a cow elk hunt. I replaced me three times, my wife and two daughters, that's better than gold.

Who else has something good to report? Let's get the good flowing for a little change.

I am packing my gear right now to leave for nevada for 2 days of hunting I cant my stuff packed fast enough.

Have to agree with you lucky 13. Good news for me is our family has 2 limited entry elk tags and 1 CWMU deer tag to fill this year and I get do film them (not for resale).

I became a resident of Colorado!! I get to experiance new country and hunt some of themost beutiful country in the world!! Me and my family are totaly stoked!!

Work to hunt!! Live to hunt!! And the rest spent keeping the wife happy!!

My good news is that the Mrs. and I got drawn for archery deer, opening day is Sept. 5. And in 29 days we'll be up there (Navajo Rez)settin up camp. I have one more scout trip planned before then, and come opening day I hope to give a nice 4x4 a ride in the truck. :)
Good luck everyone!

LAST EDITED ON Aug-04-07 AT 01:48AM (MST)[p] Really? That's it? Nobody else has anything good to chime in with? The five of us are the only ones hunting mule deer, or anything else for that matter, any time soon? Remarkable!

Or is it that bad news is far more interesting and easier to get excited about?

Found out today the Good Lord Blessed me and my wife, She is pregnant for lucky #3.

Elkslayer54, congrats on #3. My good news is, in two weeks I leave on a 40-hr ofshore fishing trip and my kids are going with me. Then in early Oct. I get to chase antelope in northern Colorado for the first time. I've been all excited working on fishing tackle, loading antlope bullets, etc., etc.

I get to archery hunt Blactails starting Aug 18th in B3 & I drew a X3B (Mule Deer ) tag for Oct 6th come home 2 days from that hunt , then leave for deer & elk hunt in Colorado! When I get home ducks will be going till the end of Jan,with pheasant & quail, that has me smiling!

Less than one month to my Alaska moose hunt. Two weeks on a remote lake with a good friend. Should be an adventure. Then back to work for two weeks and heading back out to Montana for the last two weeks of archery elk/deer season. Going to hunt the CMR. Really looking forward to a DIY Missouri River Breaks Elk/Deer hunt and hopefully adding on a goat tag next week. Family is all healthy and I'm blessed to have a wife that understands my addiction! Hope all here have good health, good fortune, and good hunting!

I like the good news posts for a change.

I'll be headed to New Mexico for an archery elk hunt in 6 weeks!!! I can't hardly wait.

Then starting in October, I've got a nice whitetail spotted that I'll be after. He's a nice 10, excellent mass, huge browtines, 3" kicker coming off the main beam just below his browtine. I think he'll push 150" - and with my bow, can't wait........!!!!!!!!

Well I just hunted the first two days of the Nevada archery deer season and saw quite a few bucks. Nothing really big but good bucks up to about 25 to 26 inches. Went after a group of seven bucks but they gave me the slip. Got soaked from constant rain. The week before that I went on a 50 mile horseback trip in the Ruby Mountains. Life is good! Got most of this month off from work to find a Gargantuan Muley. fatrooster.

BIG congrats to elkslayer and his family, that's the best news of all.

This is what I'm talking about good news.

Some of you know how hard it is to draw a tag in AZ. This is my fifth year in a row drawing a big game tag with little to no BP's. This year will be my second year in a row with a Kiabab Muley tag. God has been good!!!

Great postings. All the negative postings have been a bummer to this new member new member. I am glad that there is others who remain positive.
Next tuesday I'm fishing for blue marlin all day, the 23rd of August I leave for a week of archery blacktail, sept. 8th my Colo muzzy mule deer hunt unit 21, Idaho rifle speedgoat unit 42 the 25th of sept., southeast Idaho deer the 10th of oct., wyo mule deer area c the 15th of oct. Back to blue marlin the first week of nov. and then New Mex. mule deer the 10th.
I have much to be thankful for and don't harber ill thoughts to my fellow hunters. Keep the home fire's burning.

Only 1 for 27 in the draws BUT I have a quality 3rd season Colorado deer tag. No excuses that other hunts got in the way this year.

Nevada chukar are gonna get exercised as I plan on hunting at least 10 of the first 14 days. Think I'll be in shape for Colorado??

Well I didn't draw any of the tags I applied for in California but I am used to that.. The good news for me is my youngest daughter is having another baby so I will be getting a new grandson in October and than I did draw a late season (3rd week November) muley tag for South Dakota. It's going to be great to meet my new grandson and future hunting and fishing buddy.
