Was up the Kettle Crest area a week ago. An old timer told me about an area 5 yrs. ago. I hunted it opening day, but got snowed out in 2001. He showed me some pics of some great bucks taken over the years. I scouted the area eve. and early am. To my surprise I found 4 shooters and didn't see anybody. All bucks 160 to 185. I have a graet camera but to faraway. Need to hook it up to my spotting scope. Last season my son and I had draw tagsin Wa. and Id. Nothing this year. A couple more scouting trips and maybe we will have a little luck. Last year we had 3 bucks over 160. I would be happy with just one great buck in 2007 for us. Dont see any posts on the Sherman Pass, Kettle Crest area. Hopefully we will have a pic of buck from there.

I have heard about many quality animals seen up there, but I haven't seen too many pics from up there. I have heard of some real bruiser muleys seen up there during the late whitetail only season. I think you are on the right track by hunting that corner of the state. Good population of animals w/minimal hunters. Good luck and keep us posted.

My pal is a taxidermist in Enumclaw. Two years ago he took in 3 bucks from somewhere in that region all 4 points with eye guards 160 to 180. They looked like triplets except each one was progressivly larger. They were all taken by the same group.I have seen some monsters during the late whitetail bow hunt. I was at full draw on one who came into my grunt calls, then I realized he was "no go" as it was whitetail only! Any help you can give us in November in the Chiwawa/Entiat would be welcome. The food is good and the companys better! Thanks, Dan.
