Well this is my first time to put in for Arizona I know units 8-9-10-23 are all good but takes years and years to draw but I'm just looking for some info on some other units or even your input on the units previously stated... Keep your smart @$$ comments to yourself please don't waste everyone's time.

You have no chance at the units stated unless you're a resident.
With zero points, you'll be relegated to the random draw and the only tags you can draw there, are those that didn't hit the 10% nr cap, assuming you're a non resident. Those unit numbers will be single digits, greater than 3 and less than 8.

There are over 100,000 non-residents ahead of you in the preference draw. Including all weapon types, only about 110-120 non-residents draw a tag each year, therefore it won't take years to draw, you will never draw any of the early hunts. Your best chance to draw a tag would be one of the late hunts and 6A and 5B offer the best odds. Lots of elk and 300+ bulls get killed every year, just not very many in relation to the number of tags issued. If you have the time to scout or hire a good guide, bigger bulls are possible in the late hunts in most units if you get lucky. A lot of the bulls will be broken that time of year and the big ones that survive intact are very, very hard to come by.

I'm 22 years old I will have plenty of time to wait it out I've talked to some outfitters and they said probably 12-15 years which if that's what it takes that's what it takes I'm not going to put in for a hunt that produces 300" bulls we can do that all day here in New Mexico I've shot 3 bulls over 300" I'm just wanting to know what the best units in Arizona are I guess MM wasn't the place to ask that if I can get drawn for Arizona once in my lifetime ill be happy plane and simple

not sure I understand the question for sure because first it seemed like you were asking for other good units other than the normal high profile ones. then your next post said you were wondering what the best units are. So I think you hit the best units with your first reply except missed 3c & 27. if you are interested in units that stil canl produce big bulls but better draw odds then maybe look at the peaks hunt in 7east, unit 1 turned on this year with the governor tag and take tag bulls & 11m almost had the world record typical record broken. all of these units have better odds than the original list you had.

tags are hard to draw but every year someone gets lucky with a tag and few points.

Thanks for the info I work for a company based out of Yuma so maybe they will ship me to as for a couple years and I can get my residency

Since 2008, I've drawn 3 Arizona Bull elk tags as a NR...all in the units you listed.

Killed good bulls (356, 315) with my 2008, 2011 tags and donated my 2012 bull elk tag to hunt-of-a-lifetime.

With some research, you can draw.

I should have prefaced my comments with no chance at early hunts. The late hunts are another story and offer quality hunts as Buzz can attest.

I'm a bow hunter but I got advised to put in for late rifle an late bow I know a bow hunt in November Would be super tough but what hunts have you drawn?

Dude, put in for 6A or 7W, there's big bulls in ALL the units, as you well know, you just have to find them!!

If you get a chance to live in AZ for 6 months, you can buy a lifetime resident license. You will always be in the resident draw regardless of where you live. You will have to pay the non-resident tag fee if you live out of state when you draw. After five years of applying, you will recieve a loyalty point. You can also get a hunters ed point if you take hunters ed in AZ or you have a hunters ed card from out of state and take a special one day non-resident class.

Getting a lifetime resident license and applying every year you will draw an early season tag in 1, 3A-C, 8, 9, 10, or 23. Maybe even more than once. You could draw late rifle tags every few years and a late archery tag almost every year.

Cool move if you can swing it.

Find a unit you like that doesn't take a lifetime to draw. Learn that unit and draw it every few years and your chance at a big bull increases. Start talking to NR's who have recently drawn the "premiere" units and ask if it is what they thought it would be after waiting 12+ years. Many of them will say it wasn't worth it.

If you are going to wait that long research now will do you no good. A lot will change. If you have a chance at a lifetime license get it! That will also give you a chance at top end mule deer tags. Giant bulls come out of the Multi unit hunts every year.

Thanks guys I'm getting sent to Yuma for a little while for work so I planned on taking the hunters Ed class to get an extra point and hopefully I'm there for 6 months so I can get my residency for next year

+1 Sremim. I waited 14 years for a unit 1 archery tag last year. Had a great hunt, but never saw anything above 360 (he had 80 cows or more had plenty of his satellites close, just couldn't get tight in on him), had a couple 340's that I could have shot but passed. I shot a 340 in 6A years before, so wanted to "one up" myself. Anyway, I will never wait that long for a tag again. My buddy shot a pig this year, in a different unit that isn't listed at all here. And somebody mentioned that 11M bull. I have pictures of these on my site, and lot's of draw information in the "state draw" forum if you want to take a look.
