Some are within 20 minutes of Craig, And some are are past Maybell. We finaly got a camera that can reach out a little better. We haven't figured it out completely yet, but we will!! These pictures were from my last set of days off, about a week ago. We will definately be out looking around again next week, and post what we see!!

LAST EDITED ON Sep-01-07 AT 10:00PM (MST)[p]Nice pictures, thanks for posting them. My first out of state deer hunt was just west of Craig, CO back in 1976. Brings back a lot of memory.

Hey sageman,
Good to hear from you! I've checked out our area a few times now and I have seen a few good deer, they are there just not in large amounts. I really hope things change around these parts when the weather comes. Since our conversation I have just been trying to get familiar with the whole area, and trying to pin point areas to concentrate on. It's tough though, I just don't know what to expect when the weather does change around here. I think for right now the best thing to be is flexible with where I want to try and hunt.
From what I have found it should be a blast for the whole family!!
It was good talking to you the other day!! Stay in touch!

And thanks for the compliments everyone!!

Kilowatt, you beat me there by a year. My dad's graduation present to me was a Colorado archery hunt. Took a cow and a buck. East of Craig though.

Ditto the great pics! Are you hunting them this fall? Thanks for sharing em , they got the blood really pumping....Larry

I wasn't a resident yet when it came time to put in for the draws, so I bought left overs for another area. But next year I will be trying for the Craig area as far deer goes. Those deer in the pictures will be there for you guys if you have tags for 3/301. Good luck to all of you, and thanks for the compliments!!

Hey Califelkslayer!!
Good to hear from you again!!
I can't really compare this summers moister to what this area ussualy gets, but they did alot better that what I'm used to seeing in the Utah valley!! I love the weather here in Craig! It's perfect for me! Rains when it needs to and cools down at all the right times. It's really putting the hunting bug in me now!!
The best move I have made to date was moving my family up here!! Great schools, nice people, cool community, and a great animal viewing area!! Let's hope great hunting!!

Have a good one!! And good luck on your hunts this year!! Let me know how it goes if you get a chance!!

Take care!!

Everyone - Thanks for the comments about the pictures!! The wife took them, I'm just the driver and spotter for the most part!!! ;)
