WYO Deer Pref Point App's Due

I just saw the note to myself on the calendar to remember to apply for Wyoming deer preference points. Deadline is two weeks away. I didn't get in on the "ground floor" last year, but I think I'll put in for myself and the boy this year. Just have to figger out the on-line app process.

I did mine and my two older boys a couple days ago. Online is easy, if you are not in the system you will need to start by getting or giving yourself a "sportman id #" I think many use thier ss #, but you don't have to, and Wyoming will give you one if you want them to do it, just make sure you store it or can remember it. After that its simple, wish it were as cheap as it is simple. Anyway the older boy and I got in on the ground floor last year the next boy just started with points this year, in a couple of years I think we'll be lookin pretty good for speedgoats anyway.

I read somewhere that wyoming was sending letters to all those who are in danger of losing there points. if you skip 2 years you lose them.

Yes, they are sending out letters. I received one as I am letting my 3 sheep points and 3 moose points lapse. They are not of any value in my opinion. They are going to try to wring every $ out of pref points they can.
