Identify species

Not the first one caught on camera. Can't decide if it would be a good or bad thing for the state. All the other States have got them including Colorado where there seems to be the best Muley hunting these days. I say bring them on just one more tag for the year maybe or maybe it will take some of the pressure off of the Mule Deer eventually. Lots of guys would probably like to shoot one but don't tend to spend the money of out of State hunts. My .02 what do you all think.

Not sure, brow tines don't look quite right (should be longer), but that tail flick at the end sure looks like a whitetail tail. However, I know for a fact that I saw a small whitetail buck hanging around a small oasis in the West Desert near the Nevada border. Flagged me good as it was running (not stotting) away. That was in the late 80s.

You boy's are totally correct on your
observation. And I love my Whitetails more
than anyone on this whole site.

But please understand. When they come..... they COME....
Big Time.

Whitetail bucks are more aggresive in the rut than muley's
and the WT bucks will breed some MD does. You get a cross
that is an iteresting looking deer. A little of both, if you
will. Have seen them in north, west, and northwest Texas where
they run together.

Don't let them take over, is what I'm suggesting.
Like I said, I love WT dearly, but I know what they're
capable of.

Be Carefull.

Just my opinion.
