anyone else draw the late wasatch? My 17 year old daughter drew this year. I have never hunted in the wasatch during november?? I have hunted with friend and family on the early hunt, but never the late. Is this going to be an ok tag for her??

Yes. What LE tag isn't ok? Drawing a LE tag at her age is better than Christmas. Late hunts are great. Meat won't spoil, bulls are bachelor'd up, and the mountain isn't packed with other people. Congrats to her and good luck. Most likley you will be the one doing most of the work. Elk hunting is fun, not Easy. No matter what season tag you get. Don't stress it, enjoy a great opportunity with your daughter.

Late season bulls are no cake walk, from my experience. And they gave over 100 tags for this hunt so there will be plenty of competition. The key is knowing where the bulls go to lick their wounds. They find way off the trail holes to go recover from the rut. It could be a great hunt if you find the right pocket. It can also be tough.
Best of luck to you and your daughter.

Try to find low country that's not too thick, (cedars p@js) Like little said they'll be away from the herds. Good for you low country on the wasatch isn't too bad.

If you get scouting and can't find anything give me a hollar. I may know a few places that hold bulls during that late hunt. I would be happy to point you in the right direction.

It's always an adventure!!!

I drew the tag also should be interesting.I have never hunted the Wasatch but have driven through the unit many times on my way to Colorado beautiful country.

Congrats! I decided to burn 15 points to get the late hunt tag. Hope the gamble pays off. Hope to see you on the mountain and good luck.

My daughter drew it with 2!! She is one lucky dog. her team just won the 4A state championship here in Salem, and now a bull tag!! Talk about spoiled....

congrats to your daughter for both the tag and championship. Salem boys won today also. I live in Salem too. Maybe we can help each other out. I plan on doing a lot of scouting after the muzzy hunt is over.

sounds great, I have a goat tag as well to spot for. Should be a fun hunt if I can get away from work long enough to give the correct service to both these tags. If i had to pick I would much rather my daughter shoot her bull than me kill a goat. (kind of a no brainer).. but with a little luck we can get them both done right!

You should do pretty well, by no means a cake walk, but a little work to find and get to them and she'll be set.

Here's a picture of some Wasatch bulls taken during the November time frame a year or two ago.

A bit unusual!
