Just like yours! J/K There's something about those high country toads! I'd take him from the road too.

Holy Heck! Any more pictures available? What a stud deer!

How wide is he???? Wide enough with trash!!!

Holy H*LL... that guy is living the good life to be rewarded with a buck like that and next to a road no less.

Congrats.

Hawkk

HOLY COW BATMAN!

After much consideration I have decided that, given the opportunity, I too, would have shot that buck.

That has got to be the biggest buck posted on this site in the past couple of years. Holy Shania! Congratulations. Definitely a buck of a lifetime.

If I was driving down the road and saw something like that, my first thought would be "wish I had an elk tag"

Goodness gracious, what a hog! That buck is destined to the Hall of Fame!

Eel

Holy Crapoly!!!

I wish I shot a buck that was ONLY! 35 1/2".
Congrats to the hunter.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-23-07 AT 02:49PM (MST)[p]What an awesome buck, so how does it feel to put a tag on a buck you know you didn't shoot! Makes you quite a hunter. You know what I am talking about!!!! killowatt, why are you supporting a hunter who steals someone elses buck, ask him who really shot it. Those of you who were down there you know what I am talking about

Enlighten us then, don't just hint at this stuff. Tell us what happened if you were there.

Ya, if you make accusations like that you better back it up. There's only one thing I hate worse then a cheater and that is someone who makes false accusations. If you can't give the info then don't say anything.

I don't think the guy in the Photo comes on here but he could,I have heard the story 2nd hand, But I'm sure it not the story you're hinting at, It you don't want to post it PM me with it, and I will PM you the one I was told.

If this is the buck that was taken from my cousin, I can see why he was a bit upset. Dogwood, pm me if you would like.

hmmmm... this is interesting.. and I would be willing to bet that there will be many versions of what happened and who did what stories and that this thread will go on for a very LONGTIME...

well ok...its been 30 minutes..come on, I love these MM soaps on my lunch break!

For those who want to know the truth This buck was shot by Jeff (JJ) Purser on Aug. 20 @ 7:30. This buck was scored as a 8 x 8 and 34 1/2 inches.
As for the hunter who said this was shot by another you are mistaken. I will be posting the fotage taken which shows a black and white zebra striped 2" fletched arrow.

I also want to thank all of you for the congrats! It was amazing hunt.

Wouldn't this be slander as well?? I am confused by apparent incongruence in moderation. Before name was posted a few people would probably be able to reconize hunter by pic.

Cant wait to see the footage.
And then all the other stories will be put to bed.
And Congrats on a great deer...

the "real" story...

i was out hunting with my cousin, we saw this huge herd of elk cross the ridge about 500 yards away. i slammed on the brakes and spotted this big buck running with the elk. i jumped out and launched an arrow and to my surprise it dropped only a few hundred yards short. so i took off on foot and ran with the wind and power of ZEUS! before i knew it i was running along side the massive buck and was surrounded by about a hundred elk. i threw my bow to the ground and pulled out my knife and i knifed the big ol' buck in the heart, right where i was aiming! it was such a big hole that all his guts came out and he ran right to my truck on the road. then a bunch of outfiters came over and stole it from me while i was taking a nap.

thats the REAL story boys!!!

LAST EDITED ON Sep-25-07 AT 02:52PM (MST)[p]d*** those outfitters. You put all the work into this hunt and they steal the monster from you. Let's boycott them all!!!!!

The footage of the buck was not of the kill shot, it does show the buck be for he is dead with JJ's arrow in him. The photo's that will be posted later show and will confirm that the buck was hit only once with the arrow still in him. Also I am the one that skinned the buck. There was only one shot that hit this buck. So if the guy that is stating it wasn't tagged honestly, I would like to hear his explanation as to why he thinks so. It's really too bad that someone has to try and ruin a great hunt and a once in a life time experience

Sounds like Dogwood was just with a jealous hunter in the same area that WISHES he could have killed this buck, but didn't have the skill to do it like Jeff did!

We have footage of this buck from 2006. send me a PM of the area where you shot this buck. The areas name ends with Point. He was a Ghost buck and we only seen him twice in a week and a half. One of those times was the day before the hunt. He was laying down at 40 yards. He had a very wierd rack as you can see in the kill picture his one browtine is located farther up the antler than the other. He gain some mass fro last year.
Last year My dad ended up with a 6x6 that was 27" wide and had 10" bases. My bro ended up with a 29" 4X4.

WELL LET ME GUESS!!!

NORTH LONG POINT???

OR???

I'm the taxidermist mounting this beautiful buck, JJ is my son-in-law. I've seen the video clips of JJ taking this buck, so don't believe all the previous talk of "taking some other guys buck". This buck went along ways before expiring next to the road you see. How lucky is that?

I see...so he wasn't driving along when this monster crossed the road 20 yards in front of him where he smacked him. Good to know he didn't luck out QUITE as much. No seriously, incredible buck for whoever shot him. Congratulations.

can anyone post the video? I would love to see it! That is a great buck anyone would be happy with. Great job.

Sneekeestalker.
"If this is the buck that was taken from my cousin, I can see why he was a bit upset. Dogwood, pm me if you would like."

Now there is 2 deer this size killed at about the same time and the same area and one was stolen from your cousin is that right Sneekeestalker, I guess we still waiting on your buddy(Dogwood) story about this DEER not the one your cousin had stolen??????????????????????. I'm think Dogwood is digging a hole right now. I guess they wasn't thinking VIDEO, But hey lets hear the story I'm sure it will be a good one.

Not Sneekeestalker...way too much sneekyness around here. I haven't heard from Dowood either. Don't know who he is?

I wanna hear what has to be said from all sides.

Why are them two different bucks in those pictures just posted? I must have missed something

I have heard the story 1st hand and read all the forum replies. I will make a few statments and let everyone draw their own conclusions. 1st The person in the picture and his hunting party had scouted the area and had seen this buck a few time and named it the ghost buck. A nontypical buck was shot the day before, While trying the track it where blood had pretty much quit, the party that tagged the buck came upon the guys looking for the deer. After the buck that had been shot was described JJs (or who ever they are)and his party said they had only saw one big nontypical in that area and knew the buck. Here is where I think things get interesting. The shooter knew he had gut shot the buck. Not thinking anything else about it they split ways. The next day the shooter of the buck comes down the road on his wheeler and see,s the buck laying where the picture was taken. 3 guys were in the brush near the buck when he stopped they came out and said they had just killed the buck that was laying there. (the one in the picture)JJs party said they had seen his wounded buck from the day before that morning. One guy said it was 1 1/2 miles south and another guy said north. Anyway confused but willing to give them the benifit of the dought he headed to where JJs party said they had saw his wounded buck. After an hour of looking and things not making sense not to mention starting to think more than ever the dead buck might very well be the one he wounded the day before. He went back to where the picture was taken and everyone was gone. he then went back to camp picked up a rider and headed to JJ's camp for more investigation. They were gone it had been 1 hour sense he talked with them at the deer. He went back to camp and the whole camp went to where the picture was taken. Examining the gut pile it was a definate gut shot. Brown blood covering most of the pile. I have a few questions in my mind. First JJ got his buck at 7:30am seems like a quick gut shot recovery. So is this the same buck ? Was it shot twice or only once. Was it alive when JJ came upon it or dead. Lastly if in fact this is the same buck and JJ knew it was the wounded nontypical wouldn't they have had the ethics to go to the other camp and tell them they had found the buck ? I dont know the answer to any of these questions. Make your own conclusions the real story may be just as JJ said.

WTF IS A CONSIRACY???

LAST EDITED ON Oct-14-07 AT 11:08PM (MST)[p]So theres two different bucks in the pics wtf is going on. Two very nice bucks. Can anyone help us all out on the story of the 35 inch buck. If not What about the KFK thing.

Well here is a pic of the deer with JJ's arrow in it. This came from the video clip.
I simply cannot believe all of this. I tell my husband (JJ) "who cares", but I guess all of you do.
I have tried many times to down load the video of the kill, but I just can not get it.
So if you would like to come watch this movie with the whole dieing scene on it you are more than welcome. Just email me back and we can set up a date for you men!
I really am sorry for the deer that was lost and unfound because I am sure it was a nice one also. It just was not this one.
As far as them (Camp) being gone so quickly, I don't think You would wait around to get this kind of buck home either.

gal i dont know how he ever found that buck it is hit way high and extremly far back must have got lucky and caught the big artery in the top of the back

Just Living The Dream

Sounds like both shooters did not put real good shots on their deer. In either case they would be lucky to find them. Looks like JJ got lucky his did not run off to far to recover.

I personally have the video of the buck and did not post it becuase I thought this thread was to rest.

I personally have seen the video several times. There is only ONE arrow and only ONE wound in it from JJ's buck. The buck stands up and moves around while filming. There is not another arrow in the buck PERIOD!!! There is not even blood or another wound in the buck from anyone elses arrow.

JJ when I get a sec I will edit the video and post in on here.

Ah I never got them. I need new boots anyways and didnt want to waste 15 bucks on boots that are out of life. Im a little cheap I guess.

At my house. There are some swear words in it that I need to edit so the younger age can also watch. Im just a little to busy to do it at the moment.
