Wasatch early tag for my old man!

Well it is finally official I got the email that my 61 year dad drew his elk tag finally! Got it for the wasatch early with 13 points. They put a lot of tags out for it this year, but I am pretty dang pumped for him.

Now we just have to figure out what area to hit.

Well I want to watch this bull die. I hunted him with my wife last year in a heart breaking hunt ending in tag soup. Wish I would have bought her another conservation permit this year to go after him.

Let me find him again this year. I will start my trail cam and video addiction again next week. There were a couple other slightly smaller bulls. It is my first year in 4 years I will not have a tag. I decided to do an all out Alaska trip this year instead. Hope I don't regret it.

Lot of good areas to hunt on the Wasatch. Seen a lot of monster bulls there. Around Strawberry Peak has some big boys, the waters has easy access. Good luck!

Here are a couple of pics....I just realized that I can't remember if the seven point side is on the same side as the video....And after looking again it is not the same bull! the seven point side is wrong among other things....but similar....

I drew the muzzy tag up there this year and plan on spending a lot of time up there this summer. A lot of good guys on here with a lot of good info. I'll send ya a PM and let you know what I'm finding on the weekends.

Well if you really want to see that bull die and feel like hunting with a 60 year old man and his 30 something boys let me know. We should have the open floored wall tent and stove with pleanty of room.

The buddy who was going to help us out on the hunt had his son draw a totally unexpected Boulder tag. So he is going to give us some pointers and I will be scouting throughout the late summer and early fall.

We will be scouting on a couple areas, but I am not sure how much I will make it out before the hunt. I just started up to get my 2nd bachelors and CPA done. Gotta love how tags come when you are already busy as he!!.
