A BUDDY'S BUCK

My buddy had watched 4 bucks through the summer, with the biggest being what he thought was 29 wide. Opening morning of the muzzy hunt, he was a few minutes late getting to his spot, and watched as the big one crossed the saddle 300 yards away. To far for a shot, he could only watch as another hunter killed the buck. It was a laid out 29 1/2 inch 5x5.

The next morning he was there again as one of the smaller bucks crossed the saddle. This time, he was in position and made a 150 yard shot, sending the shockwave bullet home.

He said it was the happiest he's been in a while, and gave him a sense of pride packing his trophy out of the hills by himself. It is his best muzzy buck.

Yellum,

Nice buck. Did he really have to shoot it, or did the deer just come lay down at his feet because he thought your buddy was Chuck Norris, and it had no chance of living anyway?
