Looks like Jackson Hole Outfitters killed another big buck. It's been a few years since they killed a whopper. The guy in the cowboy hat is Maury Jones.

A side note, the deer probably does score about 220, maury has a habit of embelishing scores. Back in the mid nineties he guided a woman hunter to a buck that he said would make top ten in the world. It ended up netting in the mid 180's.

Now that I looked at it closer, yes it is Jonesy alright, another Greys River Buck, or maybe Little Greys River area.
ChesterWyo, that lady you are talking about is also a member here now and has been for awhile. I think her name here is WyoRancher or something like that. Has a place up around Pinedale area I think.

Easy on the Cali hunter stereotypes!! That is like saying all Utah hunters hunt off of ATV's...and we all know that is not true. It is too bad that certain states get bad wraps for a few bad apples. No offense taken though!

That buck is a PIG!!

If that is isn't a pretty buck, I don't know what is! Congratulations to the hunters.

That is a daydream buck come true for sure!

Hell, some of my best 'hunting internet' friends are from Cali...

When you zoom in you can really appreciate this stud of a buck.
The kind of buck that made the Gray's River area famous.
Just Awesome!
That hunter really looks familiar, Did anyone get his name?

Sign me up. It doesn't get any better than that. I still can't believe how awesome that thing is to look at.

Harry,

The only info I seen in the e-mail with the picture was the hunter was from Lindsey, CA and a friend of a friend of Paul Crawford's. Don't know if Paul knows him or not.

Here is a pic of the current leader in our local big buck contest. Definately a hog, also from the north country of Wyo. he scores 218 7/8.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-08-07 AT 10:41AM (MST)[p]Is that the same buck? It sure looks like it is from all the identical cheaters.

looks close to the same, maybe the same area, but NOT the same buck. .. take another look. . .

LAST EDITED ON Oct-08-07 AT 12:54PM (MST)[p]After looking closer, it does look like the G-2s on the first buck are shorter. I'd bet they were related though(identical twins???), because all the major kickers are almost identical.

SNS Outfitters. Maury Jones was the guide. I saw that buck, it is a BEAST!!! I asked the hunter to send photos and the story to me, but?????
Maury said they measured the buck at 235.

My rifle wouldn't shoot a buck like that one... When it sees a big buck it starts shaking and always misses.. But it's death on them lil' 2 and 3 pointers..

Damn.. If I ever shot one like that I would probably start hunting something else because you sure couldn't shoot a better buck than that..
