We had spent our first 6 days of our hunt hunting the low sagebrush country and it was tough, only seeing 6 bucks and about a million antelope, so we decided to head on back to Utah for the opener of the muzzleloader deer hunt. The following week we headed back to Wyoming and decided to give the sagebrush one last try. After one day of hunting we saw about 20 doe's and no bucks, so we went back to camp and chucked all of our gear in the truck not even putting anything away and headed for the high country. Now, we had never hunted the high country in Wyoming before so we were going blindfolded. When we got to where we decided to camp we were stuck in the truck for a couple hours waiting out a storm. After the storm passsed we picked the best looking canyon we could find and headed right up the middle. We only saw a few doe's and a few small 2 points. The next morning we decided to go back in that canyon but this time staying up high on the ridge for a better view of the area. We got about 45 minutes in when we spotted some deer feeding, just 2 small bucks and some doe's. We walked up another 100 yards and spotted two more deer feeding out of the bottom below us. They both looked like shooters so we decided to get in range for the shot. The closest we could get was 430 yards so we had to shoot. I shot first but could not tell where I hit so I shot again hitting the buck a litte far back but putting him down. Soon after more bucks started running right to us. My brother picked the nicest one and pulled the trigger and that was it, we had 2 deer down in lesss than a couple minutes on the last day of the hunt. It was an awesome trip and I can't wait to do it again. Mine is the 4 point and my brothers is the giant 2 .
