The thread is getting a little long so it's time to start a new on just before the halfway mark of the season.

Go Giant's

Where will it stop. Affeldt on the shelf for 15 Broadway back up presumably until chains start later next week. Now pagan scratched from the starting lineup.

Some minor league moves Mac Williamson the hottest outfield prospect got promoted to aaa and some previously hot prospect have been demoted to A ball from AA

Injury-itis.

No pun intended.

Stay close, get healthy, then STRIKE!!!!!

Took a wildcard team to the WS Champoinship last year.

They do know how to win the big ones, just need to get there.

PS: Belt needs to get hot.

Hopefully belt got kickstarted yeaterday much needed

Problem is the just don't have many cards to play the only guys they can option to the minors aren't going to get optioned all their fringe and bench players are vested so something's gunna break soon via a trade I think. Possibly Kontos he has been stellar but you got to pay to play.

The Giant's have won 3 world series in the last 5 years and it's a tribute to the front office that this season's MVP's of the first half of the season are two rookies. Matt Duffy and Chris Heston keep up the good work. Go Giant's.

I think he is gone for good this time. And I almost feel bad for McGhee having to fly all the way to Miami before getting the news he would be dfa.

Adrianza is back up been doing very well in Sacramento and is so much more versatile. Can play 3 spots on the infield switch hitter and can run a little.

Timmy headed to the DL but not until Thursday to make a spot for Cain. Not sure why they are waiting until Thursday they could add a body for a few days then activate Cain but who knows.

The Washington series should be interesting with all the different game times too

wish we were healthy enough to pull away in our division...
8-0 to games i went too so far!!
jester

Ouch...that game hurt. Casilla hasn't looked good in the last few games. Go Matt Cain.

Casilla's numbers as a whole don't look that bad but it's hard to watch. He just don't seem to have the moxy to me.

Buster got dinged and pulled for concussion tests. No word yet on his status but. East coast day game presents an issue of gettin hector Sanchez in time should they need to make a move but originally in sacramentos starting lineup he did not play so I assume he caught a flight east.

Matt Cain returns today! Lincecum officially on the DL.

That game broke my heart yesterday.

It's hard to keep up with all the line up changes lately. Kind of like shuffling a deck of cards. Do the Giants have a little league team? Just trying to figure out where McGehee went. :)

Eel

Thanks to the Dodger's pitching, the AL will have home field advantage in the World Series this year.

Not a big issue for the Giants if they make it though.

LAST EDITED ON Jul-15-15 AT 08:47PM (MST)[p]Lets get back to Baseball most every night, this break is killin me! :)

Looks like we will soon be our whole team again. I gotta say that the Giants as a Team did fairly well with so many of our best guys playing buggered up or out all together!

This team can still surprise some folks!! We know and more important, the Giants players know, that they can play well against and beat anybody in the game.

Go Giants!!

The games and sweep in Az was, in lots of ways, just what this team needed.

SD always seems to play us tough with their young pitching nobody ever heard of before but i don't think that they can match up with what we now got going on. I hope not... but it's SD.

They can hit!, Go Giants!

Joey

need another quality starter ...
also hoping Hudson is 100% and tossing good!
(no more injuries...and our division is ours!!).
jester

We'll be glad to have 2 of 3 from the Padres. Must have been Larrbo, down there for the series with the wife, rooting the Giants on. Good job Buddy!!

Day off tomorrow, hates it! ;-)

Joey

This has been a good team already and now we have a couple more guys swinging hot bats... and one of our best fielders soon to return!

Please, nobody get hurt! the Giants have a tough month of games ahead of them. Go Giants!!

Joey

10 out of 11, way to go.

Dodgers must be hearing footsteps.

Bats and arms in sync= win streaks.

Perfect blend of youngsters and veterans. Although Panik, Duffy and Heston don't play like youngsters.

This is Crawford's career year.

Go Giants!!!!

I've been a one team guy ever since I attended a SF Giants game back in 1958.

I still like the Giants but now I added another team.

I'm a big fan of whatever team is playing the Dodgers.

Eel

Guns are like parachutes. If you need one and don't have one you probably will never need one again.

The Giant's are fun to watch right now, everything is clicking pretty well. Do they go out and make a trade before Friday or stand pat??? I'm seeing a lot of rumors about David Price from the Tiger's.

Hard to mess with this Team, i agree Larrbo

Boch said that he's fine, he likes the guys he has, and he'll stand pat... or take what they give him.

http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/story/...s-to-trade-content-with-current-roster-072615

I wouldn't mind to upgrade a starter, Price or maybe Shields would be great, and that Chapmen guy from Cinci who throws 105 mph, he'd fit in as our new closer.

The brew crew coming to town! They might not like their welcome.

Joey

You know the Dodgers will be shopping. We might better out bid them for another starter. Even if we make a ball boy out of him for awhile.:)

No, I trust Bochy!

Eel

There was a hour or so when the dudgers had already lost and the Giants were still playing. I checked the standings and they had the Giants in first place % points ahead of the dudgers. :)

What a pretty picture!! lol

Cain still needs some work.

Joey

It looks like the Dodger's just landed David Price giving them 3 stud starting pitchers.....put's their payroll over 200M. We really need Matt Cain to get back to his old form. Go Giants

David "Price". Sounds like a Dodger move alright. Get that wallet out Magic Johnson, you're going to need it.

LAST EDITED ON Jul-30-15 AT 11:06AM (MST)[p]larrbo, You had me going there bud. i couldn't find mention of a pending or any other deal with Price going to Dodgers. I do see where Price is now said to be going to the B Jays, a good thing. :)

Our second string played pretty good yesterday. How about that throw from Pence to nail that guy at third?

Go Giants!

Joey

"It's all about knowing what your firearms practical limitations are and combining that with your own personal limitations!"

LAST EDITED ON Jul-30-15 AT 01:25PM (MST)[p]Well no Price or Hammels but the Dodgers didn't get them either so I think that's almost as good as getting them plus they're both in the AL

I don't know anything about how the prospects acquired for those pitchers compare to the names being floated that it would have taken for the Giants to land one but I'm glad they have so far kept their prospects. Only guy I would be ok with trading off the current roster is Belt but good to see Duffy and Panik are untouchable. Don't take it as I want belt gone I'm cool with him but I would give him up to improve somewhere else.

The rotation still has me on edge a little it's going good now hopefully those that need it can get their second wind and let's face it they haven't peaked yet so let's peak in September and October.

Duffy and Heston for ROY probably won't happen but well deserving

Process of elimination finally got Machi and Arias two good Giants hopefully Adrianza contributes like yesterday.

By no means is this team playing a Sexy brand of ball by smashing tons of homers but they are really starting to hit on every cylinder. who would have thought Crawford would be leading the team in homers?

August is going to be tough but if they can survive and get to September first bring back a few of those relievers from Sacramento and have more than a 4 man bench!

Well they got Mike Leake for Adam Duvall and a minor league pitcher.

Also word is Hudson is out of the rotation but no idea what that means as far as if he is going on the DL DFA or what yet. They need to clear a spot for Leake on the 25 man.

I liked Duvalls power potential but with this young infield he was expendable the pitcher was likely the bigger key to the equation

Now it's go time

i wonder how many times the league pissed test
Crawford.. (way to to go ..hits two homers today).
jester

Fricken Casilla

Dude has good stuff but he isn't a closer. He don't have the mental capacity.

I know Strickland have one up today but it's time to promote him or go strictly by committee.

Tomlinson batting 1.000 in the bigs way to go

Come on September 1 for call ups

Glad that's over. It doesn't take me long to get burned out on that stupid tomahawk chop chant.:)

Haha!

Boys should be happy to be headed home and get a day to come up for air.

Pretty dang frustrating to load the bases with no outs and not even put a ball in play

And what on earth does Crawford got to do to come up in the lineup leads team in homers second in rbis.

New guy, first AB for the Giants.... Dinger!! :)

A well a everybody?s heard about the byrd B-b-b byrd, byrd, byrd, b-byrd?s the word A well a byrd, byrd, byrd, the byrd is the word A well a byrd, byrd, byrd, well the byrd is the word...

I was reading this morning that there have been 34 homers hit in the major leagues the past 2 seasons....Mad Bum has 9 of them.

this is me going home after last night's game...

uqaBmbo.gif

Couple things, i don't have TV to watch the games but i did buy a mlb radio package so i can listen to all the teams in all their games thru my computer. Giant's radio announcers John Miller and Dave Flemming have ruined the enjoyment of listening to the games for me. They yell and holler when the other team does well to the point that i can't tell whice team they are rooting for.

They both get all excited in saying how great the other team's guys were when they hit a home run or some bum out of a play that beats the giants. I don't want to hear that crap, especially with their excitement and high vocal level.

Kruk and Kiper are great, fantastic, awesome guys and we always know who they pull for. Miller and Flem, to the point of can't stand listening to them! So, i have the option to listen to the other teams announcers and i do that. Who pays these guys anyway?

No kidding! Cain will be gone this year.

Much needed win tonight mad props to peavy for going deep and preventing another Mad Bum pinch hit.

I've said it all along just got to limp into 9/1. Don't realize it would be this figuratively Craw dinged up now Blanco dinged up Pagan hopefully coming back

Look out for Tomlinson in the outfield next season

Wait for roster move tomorrow

Even though if feels like we're running on about 5 cylinders at times, we're only 2.5 games out and in the running for a wild card spot. With only about 35 games left it's starting to get exciting. I'll take that every year.:)

Crunch time, baby! GO GIANT'S

Anyone seen my rockies lately? Oh wait, there they are, right in the cellar as predicted!

I hate the Dodgers!!!!

I guess it's good by to Timmy! Kind of sad.

Giants general manager Bobby Evans revealed during a radio interview that Tim Lincecum has been ruled out for the remainder of the season following a setback in his recovery from a hip injury.

Evans told KNBR in San Francisco (via Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle) that Lincecum got a second opinion from a specialist and is facing surgery.

Lincecum is in the final season of his contract and Schulman writes that the injury ?almost certainly signals the end of Lincecum?s career in San Francisco.?

http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2...ts-is-likely-over/?ocid=Yahoo&partner=ya5nbcs

Tim was a wonderment to me in several ways but mostly for Pitching a big Man's game with his relative small stature. I guess i will always be a fan of his, saw way too many games where his stuff was flat unfair to hitters, almost impossible nasty to put a bat on.

And then toward the end here, you never heard a word of complaint, regret, or disappointment from him, always the positive outlook in his efforts to get better for the Team. The guy was a Pro, a favorite of mine, and if he doesn't resign with the Giants, i doubt that he will, i'm going to miss him in the orange and black.

I've been concerned that it was Crawford's Oblique injury that has flared up and it's not so much him getting hit by pitch to his ankle that is keeping him out. Without Craw, Panic, and Pence, we are not even the same team.

We ain't done yet!!! x( Go Giants!!

Joey

Not done yet is true

Bochy needs to think outside the box and be more creative than ever.

Just saw Susac is heAded back to SF for his wrist not good. Posey is tired too many innings behind the plate. If he needs to carry this team offensively he can't be the catcher for 140+ games too. Granted Susac got hurt too just as he hit his stride and Bochy and pitchers were gaining confidence.

Still going to see probably one more pitcher get the call as Lincecums roster spot is available. I say bring up one of those young fireball starters and see if you can't catch lightning in a bottle. You got 3 guys going well right now the other two spots chop it up give Huddy Voge and company 2-3 innings and basically do a split start.

As for Tim Lincecum bad way to possibly see him go. Most likely he won't be in the big leagues with the Giants again. But with the way things work I don't see any one giving him a big league contract so I wouldn't be surprised to see him in Giants camp next spring on a minor league deal.

Crawford I agree oblique for sure.

Deep down still rooting for Juan Perez quietly his numbers aren't bad and he is a superb defender. If he can hit just a little he would be an awesome bench player.

Hopefully when LA comes to down the games still mean something but lots of work to do between now and then. And who knows who will be in the lineup.

WTF! Finally get a win but....

Aoki lingering concussion symptoms may be finished

Susac out 3-4 months with wrist

Sanchez sprains and ankle

Legitimately throwing around Whiteside making a comeback called up Jackson Williams who can't hit

This odd year stuff must be for real.

Peavy doubles twice

It's been a tough year for the Giant's with all of the injuries, but I read this today about our former 3rd baseman:

It's been a rough 2015 season for Pablo Sandoval.

The former Giants third baseman is hitting .245 with 10 home runs and 47 RBI over 126 games.

Back in June, he was benched for using Instagram during a game.

In late July, CSN New England Red Sox Insider Sean McAdam wrote a column entitled, "Sandoval's conditioning continues to be problem."

A week prior, Boston Herald columnist Steve Buckley wrote a critical article with a headline: "Hanley Ramirez and Pablo Sandoval must go."

And on Sunday, after racing home from third on a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning, Sandoval left the game because of "lightheadedness."

On Monday morning, McAdam weighed in once again on Sandoval's on-going weight issues.

Here's an excerpt:

"I've lost track of the number of games from which Sandoval has been removed this season for either "dehydration" or "lightheadedness."

This is not typical for a professional athlete. We aren't talking about a pulled muscle or a turned ankle. Sandoval has been removed for being dehydrated or lightheaded and that signals the obvious -- Sandoval isn't in shape."

I kind of kept an eye on Sandoval this year. It was good for a chuckle. Maybe Boston should have paid him more?:)

Where there is life, there is hope. Eel:)

The Dodgers might as well choke now as in the playoff's.

Since the Giants did their usual odd year off and went their ways, i haven't watched much BB. i see it's KC verse the Mets in the W>Series, where's the Dodgers? :)

I believe there were some doubters after last years WS, me saying that KC was no flash in the pan team.

Gotta go Mets!

Joey

Zack Greinke signs with the Diamondback's for 6 years 205 millon dollars. Now the Giant's can sign two starters for the price of one.

I like it! There have been moments when i'd have liked zack as a Giant. He is a Fantastic Talent and Pitcher, the definition of the Word, but did i want our Team to pay over 200 Million to a 32 yr old pitcher that occasionally has arm problems. Not really.

At least the Dodgers no longer have such a great 1-2 punch in Kershaw and Zack. That in itself is a Win for the Giants and Dodger fans must be reeling with the blow!

So, WHO ARE WE GOING TO GET? 2 for the price of one sounds good Larrbo, let's deal!

Joey

"It's all about knowing what your firearms practical limitations are and combining that with your own personal limitations!"

I don't know who we're going to get, but any pitcher, or every day player for that matter, who ever dreamed of winning a World Series needs to think about hitching his wagon to the SF Giants star. Our core team, from the ownership to management on down, has a whole lot more to offer than just money.

I guess you could say I'm a proud Giants fan who has no clue about the money part of the game! :)

Eel

You said it Eel! Come play with a winner!

Well we can't say that the Giants Brass failed us in attempting to bolster our Starting Pitching Staff. We got both Samardzjia and Cueto, arguably 2 of the top 5 or 6 starters available thru free agency and they didn't cost us any of our outstanding young and tested starting infield guys. We gonna be tough to beat, bring it!

Staying healthy will, as always, be key. Looking forward to 2016!

Joey
