Another first buck

My son's first buck, you would have thought he was 6 foot 8 and 300 pounds the way his chest was swollen up after the buck was down. Nothing like being there for an occasion like that. I'm guessing I was lookin' pretty proud also.
Opening afternoon, about a 325 yard well placed shot, then another for good measure...lol. Before we even seen the deer my son was making himself a rest in a sagebrush and getting ready. I was watching through the binos and told him, "the last one is a buck" then waited...and waited. I didn't think he was going to shoot because it felt like an eternity. Then "Boom" and the slap of a solid connection...
Snowed like crazy on us while we were cleaning him and dragging him out. Another memory locked in place and the start of a great big game hunters career.

congrats, i got my first buck this year, and i am almost 28, but i been gone most the time since i was 19 in the military, mine wasnt much bigger then that, but he did turn out to be a 3x3 had to count the little 1 inch kickers that you cant really see on the pics...next year though ha ha

Pretty cool buddy! My daughter got her first animal this year. An antelope. It is kind of fun watching them blast the first critter. Nicely done pile and pilejr!
