LAST EDITED ON Oct-25-13 AT 12:43?PM (MST)

My son called me yesterday to tell me about his elk hunting experience. He got a call while at work from the ranch manager that manages the place next to his. Seems he saw what he thought was a small bull on his place that morning and my son should come and take a look for it. He had stirred him a little but didn't think he had gone far. My son left work; picked up his wife and headed in the general direction. After about an hour of glassing the hilltops the spotted 2 bulls resting together. My son shot the first one. The second one stood up and trotted about 30 yards away and his wife let him have at that point.

Well we know what they'll be doing the rest of the day.
Good job those are some really nice Bulls.

Tell the ranch manager to give me a call if he finds any more small bulls that he needs removed. Great bulls.

If those are 'small' bulls, I'd love to see what the ranch manager thinks are big bulls. Congratulations! I'll bet they were more than a little tired when they got done taking care of both of those bulls.

Damn! That's sweet!
That's a dream day for sure.... except all the meat packing.

1 morning, 2 shots, 2 great bulls AND a road 50 yards away ?!? Not fair, just not fair. Congrats anyway :)

Those are both nice bulls. That road behind em is almost as nice. That don,t happen on every hunt (for most of us). Congrats to both of them.

Ranch manager probably loaded em whole with his tractor and hung em in the barn to process right?

Road close by those are great bull elk, Best bull is the one closest to a road I always say.

Both awesome bulls I've always wished to put a full bull on a truck looks like u get two. I bet rancher even helped with a tractor u lucky s.o.b Wish I can get someone to kill a half mile from a road. Congrats looks like a fun day with the wife

And yes, the rancher did use a tractor with a bucket on it to help load them up. Trip home to the barn with them was a tough one though. I think it was about a mile and a half. I am just as pleased as I can be with my son's luck, but I think I should have received a phone call as well. Who knows, there could have been a third bigger bull along with these two 'small' ones!
