Best way to break in a new rifle!!!

I set up a new rifle this year. I bought a Browning .300 win mag with a swarovski 5-25x52 scope on it. I had only shot it a couple times prior to the hunt. Opening morning around 11 am we got these elk pushed to us and the 180 accubond did the job!
