A new scoring method

Tell me what you guys think...
I just thought of a new scoring method that wouldn't have everyone asking how wide a buck is... Instead of taking a measuring tape and going all over a deers head and coming up with a million different measurements only to disagree and have a professional scorer come to your house and discover that you are several inches off...
Why don't we just do a water displacement score. You can use any container filled to the rim large enough to dip your antlers in to the bases. On the huge bucks you would have to add up the displaced water of each antler after filling the container to get the measurement of each antler.
This way shed antlers could qualify and an official "BIGGEST DEER" either on the hoof and still roaming the hills or harvested could be compared to other deer. Wide bucks are still trophy's but I am just not buying that the pitch or angle that a deers antler protrudes form it's head should determine whether it is a trophy or not.

Hom many 2liter bucks do you think there are out there? Or maybe even 1 gallon bucks? An official world record would not be disputable....

This method has been aroud for a LONG time. Can't remember the guys name right now, but it already has a name. I like the idea.

WITH 15" BASES IT MIGHT TAKE A 55 GALLON DRUM!!!

THE ONLY bobcat THAT KNOWS ALOT OF YOU HAVE HAD THIS IMAGE IN YOUR PEA BRAIN BUT DUE TO POOR SHOOTING TACTICS I'M STILL KICKIN!!!

Can someone tell me why the inside spread is even accounted for on a scoring sheet for deer or elk? The inside spread is not a measurement of inches of bone grown in any way?
I think all the scoring systems should take the inside measurement off the final score.

Actually, it is an indirect measure of bone. Inside spread, on most bucks, follows closely with main beam length.

But the inside spread measurement is more about asthetics, and acts as an "equalizer", not a "bonus" as you refer to it. It prevents bucks with, all else being equal, antlers growing straight out the side of their head from scoring better than those whose main beams wrap around nicely.

This is my post

I've just pissed in my pants.......and nobody can do anything about it.

I was told by a gentleman from Germany this is how they score their trophies. Problem is that they must be removed from the skull plate. I know that I would not do this just to find out how much water they displaced.
