Pending world Record?

Received this picture from a friend saying this deer is the pending world record desert mule deer. Anyone know the story? Said it was harvested in Mexico.

The story didn't go into detail, and maybe someone knows, but why "SCI Record" and not B&C record? Didn't sound like a high fence hunt, but who knows. Maybe the B&C records weren't entered into SCI?

At any rate, it was written up in the May/June 2005 Muley Crazy. I remember it well, because a picture of a large non-typical muley I took, credited to someone else, is in the fold out of this story. :-( Still waiting for the correction on that....

SCI uses the total gross score right? Where B&C has net deductions...

Yep, this buck seems to surface on here every few months but I never get tired of looking at it. It's the prettiest typical buck I've ever seen.
