Thanks for posting Kilowatt, no big deal about the Nevada/Colorado thing, it must be the pain meds you talked the doctor out of.
As everyone has said it has been a tough year with the weather being so balmy. I drew a 3rd season tag with the hopes that we would have some decent weather to stir things up a bit. The unit I had was mostly weather dependant. After 6 days of hunting with nothing bigger than a 25" buck spotted dad & I headed off the mountain wondering what to do next. As we were heading lower towards the pinyon/juniper/sage country I spotted several does heading in for the day, after several attempts to turn them up we were just about ready to call it when I took one last turn off before we called it a morning. With the truck still running we wandered around checking for sign, about this time dad jumped a doe and a fawn at about 10 yrds away, as we were watching them slowly wander off I turned back towards the truck and glanced up at the opposite hillside just about the same time as this guy was getting up from his bed. A frantic run to the truck for my binoculars first and rifle next allowed me one shot as he was just about ready to go out of site. Who said a little luck never helps.
