Hey all,
I just returned from my Colorado Mule Deer / Elk hunt. Needless to say the weather was like summer (third season too) and we went 0-3 on all species.
My question is....It is so thick in the area I hunt that glassing seems tougher than other areas. I was hunting in the Pagosa Springs area and up high it is thick with very few openings. Even at 8x you can only see 1 or 2 holes at a time and they are small. Don't get me wrong I was glassing all the time.
How would you do it?? I felt the only way to see if animals were in the area was to walk it. I walked over 6 miles a day in pretty rough country. It didn't seem to help though. I saw sign, some even fresh (grin), but no animals.
Any thoughts??
