Monroe Late

My dad has always dreamed of hunting elk on the Monroe mountain. That desire has only grown since he purchased some property on the mountain and built his little home away from home. Do to his age and his ever failing health my brothers and I convinced him to apply for the late season hunt this year. He will be going in with 16 bonus points this year. Anyone want to predicted what his chance are of getting a tag this year?

Well 400,

Judging off just the 2012 and 2013 points/odds and if the tag numbers stay the same and no-one with the same or more points jumps into the docket he is at 100%. By looking at the trend of just the last two years although a very small sample to predict off, I would say you guys will be hunting the Monroe in November.

I hope that he draws that tag. I went several years ago with a friend who had an archery tag on Monroe and it was AMAZING.

I put in for archery this year on Monroe but I only have 10 points so the odds are not with me. If for some reason I draw I will have to let you know what I see when I am hunting.

I know a friend had a rifle tag last year and they were chasing a bull close to 400 most of the time and were not able to get him.

Im not sure about the early but I applied for the muzzleloader with 17 points and not sure I'll get a tag

If my dad did not have bad luck he would not have any luck at all. Looks like I will need to talk him in to giving it another try next year. Right now he thinks he is finished playing the game.

Mike, didn't you draw a tag on Monroe a few years ago? I am thinking it was archery?

Yes, I drew that tag back in 99. I was looking forward to spending some time on the mountain again with my dad. I guess I will have to wait at lest another year for that.
