Colorado 4th season question!

First of all, I'd like to say I'd love to hunt 4th season! Even without the rut! But I'm concerned that a great number (maybe too great a number) of the best bucks are killed during that late of a hunt. Even with a low number of permits available can the hunters be so selective they overkill our best bucks? Just like to hear what fellow hunters have to say?

I think weather has alot to do with how good a 4th season turned out this year it wasn't a good year, but now most years I think 4th season rifle hunters kill to many big bucks.

Just returned from Colo 4th season elk, and a guy or gal with a 4th season deer tag would have been in muley heaven. There were respectable or good bucks with every group of does. It would have been more like shopping than hunting. The bucks would just stand and look at you, no alarm or spooking whatsoever. While it would be a good opportunity to harvest a great buck, the challenge of the hunt would not exist.

Elk backstrap on the grill tonight. Gotta love Colorado!

THANK GOD NOT EVERY UNIT HAS A 4TH SEASON DEER HUNT, GOTTA LEAVE SOME SEED FOR THE FUTURE. ALSO THE 4TH SEASON TAG NUMBERS ARE VERY LIMITED IN COMPARISION TO NORMAL TAG NUMBERS.......YD.
