HELP need advice 2008

I need some advice. I have 7 colorado resident points saved up and want some advice on which unit you guys would start researching and scouting. Ive already looked at the DOW's pages and hunt odd's page and so far am kinda leaning towards unit 21 for 2nd or 3rd rifle season. I also have a 8year old anda 12 year old who are itching to see dad kill something big. any advice you guy care to share would be greatly appreciated.

That unit would probably be right up your alley. There are lots of roads, so the kids wouldn't have to hike too far and there are nice deer there. Get yourself out there if you haven't already and look around.

LAST EDITED ON Nov-25-07 AT 12:49PM (MST)[p]hiking isnt really an issue. the boys have been on several elk hunts in the san juans and been incredable, hiking and glassing all day without complaining at all ,the older one was even carrying a full size back pack with his and brothers snacks and drink. they loved it.If anyone has any ideas on where to start or some knowledge they would like to share you can pm me so the whole world doesnt have to know. I dont espect any honey holes just some places to start getting maps and checking out.

also 2008 will be my 12year old sons 1st year hunting big game with his own rifle. Does anyone have any ideas for a youth hunt or something where he can have a decent chance at a buck? He is not too interested in the youth programs where they can kill a doe or a cow very easily. He would rather be patient for a bull or buck. What would you guys do for either hunt??? thanks
