I was thinking of going down this weekend to film some bucks and see what I missed out on (I had and filled a muzzleloader tag this year). Anybody been down lately? Is there any snow? How are the roads? How high up are the deer? Thanks in advance for your help.

Wish I could help you out but I was told that the deer down there dont really start to get into the rut tell mid Dec maybe someone on here could second that. otherwise good luck wish I was headed down there.

Just got back this past weekend, the deer are towards the end of the rut in my opinion.

We usually go down the middle of November, but we couldn't make it at the time. Compared with the last three years the deer are more alert now and we saw a lot of Does without any bucks in site, we never see this when we are down there the middle of Novemember.

We actually saw some buffalo this time on Pennell. I'm going to try and post some pictures when I get a chance.

I think theres quite a few broken bucks this year on the henrys. Most of the bucks i seen were broken four points. seen some good bucks that were young and could be pretty good in a few years but never seen any shooters. they're all spread out from up high to down low. and off the freakin road.

Hey we just got back sunday night and filmed and seen quite a few nice bucks and 3 pretty big bucks i filmed probably a 35in 4x7 not good tine lenght just a nice wide buck then we filmed some other nice bucks. but yes i think the rut is coming to an end we seen quite a few does without bucks to! we seen two bunches of buffalo on penell too! but there is snow up kind of high down low its melted already but the roads are pretty good! write back if you need anymore info.

I also was there last weekend & the deer were headed down, ditto to the broken up tines & time of the rut.

Here's a photo a friend took.
