LAST EDITED ON Nov-28-07 AT 12:44PM (MST)[p]Holy balls man ,According to the Boone and Crocket web sight the youngster who harvested that awesome non-typical is going to score around 300" .WOW ,What a buck .congrats to the kid .Its on their TROPHY WATCH section for those of you who want to read it .Happy Holidays to all ,TOM

>303 3/8 plus or minus 1/8".
>What a buck!
>
>Ransom

if i shot him i would rub that in your face for a long time lol

last year BULLRIDGE GUIDE SERVICE in Ely harvested a 300 inch buck wih a muzzle loader. It was in the velvet and definately a stag deer .This one is just a big badass buck .Gives us all hope that they are still out there .Truely amazing .

Damn, I thought that buck was closer to 280 than 300 plus. His right antler is a real pisscutter. He left is awesome but, I just dont see the length on the extras. Regardless what he scores the 14 year old kid will never kill a bigger one and I hope he doesn't get frutrated at some point and time and hang up his nimrod status.
Has anybody seen the the actual score sheet?? I bet not, and if you have lets hear the measurements. Thanks

I think that there is quite a difference between hard horned bucks and stags. I am not taking anything away from that stag from NV, as UGLY as it was I would have killed it, but a hard horned buck that grosses that high is just so much more impressive!

Does anyone know the story of the hunt? Was the kid hunting alone or with someone? If I was hunting with that kid and saw that buck I would of pushed the kid aside and shot it myself. He's young he can wait his turn for a monster.

Awesome animal, no doubt.

Thats' sort of like joining the Navy and having them make you an Admiral the first day......it's all down hill from there.

Bet that brat is real hard to live with if he has a family full of hunters.

"Yep, I'm only 14; haven't got as much deer huntin' experience as you old guys for sure. By the way, did you happen to see the B&C world record I took last season?"

Congradulations to him.

Roger selner renouned B&C scorer came down to My house and scored my son's buck it has an official green score, and will be on his tour. 307 7/8" it is the largest Mule deer taken by a hunter in 35 yrs. Roger will do the offical score to put it in the books at the Denver ISE show Jan 2008. We belive it is the largest ever taken by a youth.

Thanks Dad!

HOLY SCHIT!! Man, what a difference a great photo can make. That right side is awesome. What does the right side score? Got to be pushing 160 inches or more. GAWD DARN what a brute!!

Could you imagine if the right roughly matched the left in trash? lIke it isnt monstrous enough!
I cant get enough of it!
Now that the Eastmans have it who is mounting it?
Got to be a full body mount!
Jeff

If the left side was anywhere near that right side we would be looking at a new world record that thing is insane. Enjoy the Pictures of it guy we will probabally never see a deer like that again in our lifetimes.

Dave

Look at Guys face lol Looks like he has a turd in his pants just from holding them.

I think its hilarious that there are SOME mule deer experts that said this buck was no where near 300. This picture really puts the buck into prospective... HOLY BALLS!

You can't really grasp the magnitude of what 300 is until you hold one in your hands.
Defies description.
Those pics really shed a new light on that buck for sure!
HH

What a brute - just looking at his main frame he would definitely be a 200 buck and then all the "extras" just kick it up another 100 inches. It is amazing that there are still some bucks like this around! Great job!

FILTHY, If Utah would only micro their units and follow colorado's footsteps in managment!!???????

It's hard to put it into words when you see a rack like that. Such a truly great trophy. Almost a life changing event for a young hunter. I hope it brings him nothing but joy and happiness!

Believe me, I'am not an expert so, I apoligize for my comment about the buck being a 270" class deer. Lets face it....that buck is so big that I guarantee you that I would donate my nards for a buck like that. Congrats to the 14 year old youngster.

Browtine ,I agree .When this buck first showed up I said it reminded me of the 300 inch sheds that were found over the summer,There were remarks like ,NO WAY ,That deer wont go 270 .Those posts are on the original post when it first hit MM .Thats exactly why when I seen the official score on B and C Trophy watch I had to start this post.We should adopt this deer as MONSTER MULEYS MASCOT .

This is truly historic. With all the large bulls falling over the last few years, looking at trophy photos actually started to seem a little anti-climactic. And then this buck shows up and sets the world straight by reminding us how magnificent a Muley can be! Congratulations to Kyle and his family!!

Wow, wow, let me pick up my tongue off the floor. Who is doing the taxi work. Looks very fine! What did the right antler score by itself? Thanks for posting.

No messing around on the taxidermy job!
Will this buck be coming to the
Phoenix ISE show or just Denver with Eastmans?

Jeff

Right now It will be in Denver, then in salt lake for the wesster Expo, if not this year it will it them all next year on the Eastman's trophy deer tour 2009.

LAST EDITED ON Dec-23-07 AT 01:50PM (MST)[p]This is a rendering of the current world-record NT from Alberta. I was surpised to see how similar the antler configuration is to Kyle's CO buck.

Hey we just got Kyle's buck back and tried to post a pic of Kyle and the mount but had troubles so I sent it to the guys that now how to do this stuff. So a new is Comming Soon! It looks great it is ready to hit the show tour!

LAST EDITED ON Dec-30-07 AT 04:03PM (MST)[p]That was quick some taxidermist dont screw around much when animals are going on tour or in expos.
Great mount who did the work?
That deer is huge now go after a big elk for the wall kid.
Congrats one more time.

Well He's already got a 362" bull on the wall so I guess he could get a bigger one of those.Kyle has filled all his tags every year for his short big game hunting carrer of three seasons he as two other great bucks, 170 class, two elk over 300" an antelopeand a cow this year. He doesn't really care about inches he just loves to hunt!

Sounds like a hunting machine. That's awesome. That is a good attitude to have. It definately is about the hunt, not the inches. Love the look of that mount. When and where are we going to get to read the story of the hunt?

Hey just to let all you colo deer hunters Kyle's buck will be at the ISE show in denver next week 25-27 come up and take a look if you get the chance It will be officially scored there on Sat.

No full body mount? WOW i would have def bucked up the cash for that!

Timberline

Ohh don't worry. I am sure you will see plenty of replicas all over the place with full body mounts!

I got to see Kyle's buck and meet him, his brother, and their dad today at the ISE show. Congratulations to Kyle on such a great buck. That thing is freakin' awesome to see at 3 feet. Again, great job Kyle.

Well Its official Roger Selner did the final score,at the Denver ISE Show. after 60+ days Kyle's Buck will go in to the Book pending the panel review @ 306 3/8 " net!!!!! It will be #2 in colorado non-typ. missed #1 by 4/8", and it will be #12 in the world. the buck's gross is 311 2/8", 26 scorable on the rt, 17 on the left.

"We may have found the sheds to this buck,...will have photos once we find them." ???? What the heck does that mean? Not being disrespectful but that doesn't make sense. Did you find them or are you hoping to? Thanks

All I can say is WOW!!!!!! Kyle at 14 you have become this 32 year old man's new hunting hero. Fantastic buck!!!!!!! Kyle I hope you thank your dad for teaching you to hunt so well. That is something I have only imagined, killing a deer that big.

Congrats Kyle, I just got through reading the story in the magizine. Great story. I was curious if this was the same huge non-typical that had been seen by Steed (dad) earlier in the year?

Well tried to post a photo of what we believe could be the left side of this great buck also found his genetics are alive and well found several other sheds with awesome non typ character i'll try to shrink the photos.
