Wasatch Bull

I normally do not post kill pictures. But after multiple requests I decided I would post my Wasatch bull from this year.

I have been very fortunate to have the Wasatch tag twice in the last three years. And between my family we have had 5 tags in 6 years. We have killed three bulls with those 5 tags and have a 360+ average.

With my two tags I have hunted less than 1.5 hours for my two bulls. I took my bull this year at 6:51 A.M. On the opening morning. He was not the bull I was after but he fit the bill for what I wanted. The most important part of the hunt was I got to share it with 3 of the most important people in my life; My lovely wife who has put up with my obsessions, my shinning light, my one year old son, and my mentor and father which this animal is the first that we have both been together when I have pulled the trigger.

Without further ado here is possibly the first bull taken on the Wasatch this rifle season.

This pic is of my and my 1 year old.

And this is just a frontal.

I would have ended the hunt at. 6:33 A.M. Which was official shooting time, but he was bedded in tall grass tearing the grass apart and bugling. I had to wait for him to stand and turn broad side. It was a 280 yard shot.

To appease Bessy, the pack out due to only having a few able bodied people including cutting it in half so we could lift it into the back of the truck. One or two more people we could have lifted it in whole.

Thanks Bessy. Next time you make it over to my neck of the woods let me know and I will bring the rack over. As Nicky can attest the pics DONT Do him justice.

Nice bull! And surrounded by family, tough to beat! Then, by the sounds of the other thread u went and did a pretty good thing! Congrats!

Yes having family around makes the whole hunt.

Yeah bessy you can take it out. No body will believe you killed it anyway.

How the heck do you get a Wasatch Elk tag twice in three years..?? That's more than just lucky...

He's a stud bull and I can't imagine that too many better bulls will be taken anywhere in the state, let alone on the Wasatch. He's massive and has great everything, all the way around. Thanks for sharing your success. :)
