I couldn't be more proud of my wife and kids. She drew a great tag this year and had a lot of pressure on her (mostly from our two sons Logan & Luke) She came through like I knew she would and made a beatuiful 204 yrd. shot on this great buck. We had some awesome people help out and want to give big thanks to Abe (Nv_hunter)4th picture, Jeff, Paul, Clayton and Corey (BigFly) This group of guys went above and beyond to help out with this hunt & we truly appreciate your efforts.
This will go down as one of my most memorable hunts ever!! We hunted with some great people and had our sons by our side, truly spectacular!

Awesome!!! I really like the family photo, and its clear the kids are hooked and proud.
 
Shawn, congrats to you, Melissa and your boys. I wish I could have been there with y'all. I would definately say that your boys are hooked by the looks of their smiles.A great way to close out 2007.

This really was a fun hunt. Kids were very well behaved. They stalked right with us upto 200yards and never made a peep. Look forward to hunting with you agian in the near future. I do have to addmit that I am jelous ....wish that buck was hanging on my wall!!

I'm thinkin' "Uncle Mimi" is a family reference. A little kid perhaps who doesn't know the difference between aunt and uncle and instead of saying "Aunt Mimi" said "Uncle Mimi"?? Maybe?
 
Wow, what an experience! I just want to take a few minutes and thank you all for your positive responses. When I first learned that I drew this great tag I was worried I would not be able to devote the time necessary to do it justice. After missing a nice buck shortly after Thanksgiving break, I then began to worry that I didn't have the skill. Shawn continued to encourage me every step of the way. Taking me target shooting every chance we got, even between baking Christmas cookies and wrapping gifts. My two sons really wanted me to shoot a nice buck and their excitement added a bit more stress as well. Boy, this experience is one I'll never forget! From the generosity of the Eastern Nevada guys, to Jeff and his ongoing encouragement, to my father-in-law and the use of his 'dead eye'rifle, to the pride and joy in my husband and son?s eyes. Thank you all for allowing me the opportunity to have had such an amazing hunt. I have an unwavering gratitude for you all. Shawn you're at the top of this list!

I am Uncle mimi. My two year old nephew has fondly named me uncle instead of aunt. The whole family gets a kick out of it.

Thanks for all the great replies guys & gals. So far we have only put one tape on this buck and it came out at 186 4/8". When we get the horns back from the taxi we will get an official score on him. Either way this will most likely be a once in a lifetime buck for my wife. We are calling it the 5 buck, buck. My youngest son told her if she didn't miss he would give her 5 bucks. Now the hard part is getting him to part with his 5 bucks.
