It finally has slowed down a bit to give you guys an update on how our Kansas deer season ended up. Here are a few of the pics to highlight our season. Hope you enjoy the pics as much as I enjoyed being part of these guys hunts. I also included a pic of the other species also...

Nice Bucks. My dad took his first whitetail buck in north central Kansas on opening day this past season - a 23 point buck with 6 6/8" H-1 measurements (first big game kill ever). Gross scored 161 3/8" with approx. 16" of broken / missing antler.

Robert:

I would take your Dad's buck over just about any typical B&C buck I have ever seen. That is cool to the nth degree.

Congrats to him. What a first buck.

That a great looking buck,
Anybody hunt around Ft Riley area,(visting my son) I was back there a couple of years ago, and saw a few really nice bucks out by the river, Have thought about hunting that area.

Great looking buck,
I have been in the Fort Riley area quite a bit and there are some nice bucks in that area. Alot of that public ground gets hunted a lot with all the cities in that area.

This buck came off the public ground around Fort Riley. Just goes to show you it can happen anywhere, anytime. My uncle has been hunting around there for more than 15 years and his biggest buck has been a 165" 10 point - he was shocked with my dads buck to say the least.

I was in Kansas City in Aug and drove around some and love the green "everything" and every field or open spot seemed the come alive with turkeys and deer late in the day! Its a true sportsman paradise like my brother said...rest his sole!
I would like to hunt it someday!
thanks for sharing some very nice bucks..that Cabelas is bad arse!
