11 points for next year

I have 11 points and I have been trying to get a big bull for over 20 years now. I bow hunt every year on the any bull unit but with the state of Utah screwing the archery hunters with the time of year of the hunt I am not willing to put in for any archery hunts.
I had enough to draw this year for Muzzleloader but my wife had our second sets of twins. https://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=148&sid=31372962

I got my point this year and stayed home this year. "good Husband"
Next year it is ON and I need advice on what to do. I have a friend who just had a muzzleloader tag for the Manti Unit and he got a 300 or so bull and told me no way to do Manti. I know some places on the wasatch unit for Muzzleloader but you have to contend with all the deer hunters as well as by Current Creek our DWR wants to slaughter all the elk there so everyone has a cow tag so I am not sure.
Here is the thing. I want one of those as I call it "primos moments" where I am chasing and seeing a lot of elk bugling and passing on say 320's and 330's knowing there are 340's and 350's

I heard the book cliffs can provide that?

Okay so that took a lot of explaining but after all that I would like some suggestions where I should put in for next year with my 11 points.

Go get a loan from Jason (you know who) and buy a great tag! I still think you can do it on the Wasatch in the right spots and some good quality scouting. Man up and get it done!!

Congrats on the twins! That's awesome!

As far as muzzy hunting with what it sounds like you want to do, Book Cliffs would be a great bet. I would also recommend taking a look at the Boulder unit, lots of great bulls and a really nice unit to boot. Not super steep like the Wasatch can be, more large rolling hills which can be nice.

Good luck on the decision!

With 11 points the Books isn't a guaranteed tag. Last year it took 14 to be 100%. So I guess it depends on if you want a sure shot at a tag or just decent odds.

Deer hunters will be around on many of the units but not as many on the Books which would be a great hunt if you could draw either unit there. Another one to look at it South Cache. I saw a ton of great bulls on it and they were bugling their heads off the first three days of muzzy this year. I saw several 340 - 350 and yes bunch of smaller ones wishing I had that tag instead of a north Cache. Good luck!

I'll guarantee you that not even every other herd bull in the books is gonna be 340,350 not even close.... Those are your top top end bulls, and that's even your top end bulls in 90% of your LE units. I have hunted the books my whole life and definitely killed some that big and bigger but you need to know that's not the case there.

Book cliff muzz
Boulder mountain late (no bugling)
Any of the Lasal hunts
Wasatch muzz

With 11 points those are in my opinion the best options.

I am 100% fine with a anything around 340.

I really just want to go to an area where I at least and seeing a lot of elk and have options as opposed to seeing more hunters than elk.
I would actually be fine with 330 class bull too.
