well here is the buck i killed on jan 1 not huge for the desert but i couldnt pass on a 27 yard shot. the buck only ran 20yds after the sonoran broadhead blew threw him.

hey guys thx for the comements, i scout over300 days a year to find good bucks,this was not the buck i was after but when i glassed him up and he turned and came right to me, i couldnt pass him up i first ranged him at 200yds and then 20s later he was already at 50 and by the time i came to full draw he was at 27 lip curling and broadside. just to give you a number onhim he has 20 inch g2s and that impressed me i mean hell i am very happy to have taken him and he will look great on the wall next to the othere 3 bucks. i love to hunt the desert me and madglasser stay to the 40's and 39. you have to understand this is a good buck but we see 8-10 monsters a year down here.

My Uncle lives in 15B and is an avid quail hunter...he lives just south of lake meade in a small town of dolan springs. He goes all year just to bump one or two mule deer bucks....but some of the stories have been pretty impressive....He knows what a big one is. Could you bmail me what your general perception of this country is? We visited them in March and it looks awesome....but I can see why there are VERY few deer around....and the cattle must compete for any decent forage. I'm guessing you must be pretty familiar with this country. He also said the deer aren't too wary...unlike the Alberta mulies I've stalked with my bow over the past couple years....when they run, they don't stop until the next zip code. I also haven't invested in a top-of-the-line spotting scope, which I would guess be very important in the desert. I have some pretty good spots lined up, I just don't know if I want to blow 5-7 vacation days to hunt a low density area with my bow....although I believe the reward could be great.

Thats a beautiful archery buck hunter...congrats on getting it done. Before the end of Jan, I hope to have a deer that nice hanging

CAnAZbwhnter i take it you didnt find your buck yet. i am rooting for you. i looked at the blood it looks like your shot was to far back but he should be dead, it is amazing when there in the rut just how far they will go before they pily up. keep looking you will find him.
