Hey Does anyone know the story behind this buck? I got this pic on my phone the other day and all it said was that the deer was hit by a car near point of the mountain(Salt Lake) but that is all I know. That's a shame huge buck though!!

Sad. I have spent a lot of time in that area, and have not seen that one.

Given the speeds and unattentiveness of many Utah drivers, its going to be a slaughter as the deer are pushed lower and lower this winter.

That was posted here either a year or two ago, seem to think it was up by Park City, but just a guess on my part. Someone will remember it and make the right answer for you.

No worries anterless I got the same picture today at work and someone said it was hit yesterday. I get a good laugh when old emails and pictures get brought up with a different area. At least makes time go by at work remembering the correct area.

It was a couple of years ago. The DWR had it mounted. It is not in their Poching Trailer as it was not poached. If you want to see it up close, come to the Western Hunting & Conservation Expo from February 6 - 9 at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City and stop by the MDF booth. We travel with it to a few shows to show the Mule Deer potential in Utah.

I heard there was a huge buck, like 215", that was hit a week ago near the point of the mountain. I am sure the pictures will be on here shortly.

The deer was hit on highway 248 between Park City and Kamas. It was two winters ago right there where the new planter box divider is as you start in to Park City coming from Kamas. it was thirty five inches wide.
