Great bull for a deserving hunter

This fellow is one of my closest friends and he just succeeded in taking the best bull of his life... A 360" 5x5 bull from Nevada. This was his 4th hunt in Nevada, 3 of which have been on landowner tags. He turns 71 in a few weeks and this bull culminates decades of him chasing big bulls. Over the years he has hunted elk in most western states and taken dozens of bulls, but a truly large bull had always eluded him. No longer...

Congratulations Jim, you earned this one with lots of hard work and years of effort. I could not be happier for anyone than I am for Jim.

I love the look of huge whale tails! I think they look great without the "bling" of an extra point!
Congrats to your friend. A 360 5 is an amazing creature.

That is a Monster bull, a 360 bull is big, BUT a 360 5x5 is a Monster bull. Those Whaletails are something.

Tell that ole hay bailer I'm proud of him. That's a mighty fine looking bull. Those fives show a lot of character.

Did he get to warm up the front suffer again?

No, DeLoss, he did not take it with his muzzleloader. He shot this bull at just over 500 yards, so I'm guessing it was with his 30-378. That's an awful long shot, and awful big gun for that little Portagee.

All your friends and family have been stacking them up this fall CA. Are you saving all your good times for the duck blinds this year?

DC

DC, Well, I seldom get to draw any good tags for myself, so I just resign myself to going on everyone else's hunts, though I wasn't on Jim's hunt. But, I'm headed to Nevada later this month for a few days to help a different buddy on a late deer hunt. He has a 190 class buck spotted that we're going to try to find again. Time will tell, and its a good excuse for me to buy a lion tag.

All the best on that Nevada mule deer CA. The way the year is going I'm betting you'll find your friend the buck he's after. I sure hope you can take a lion too, every lion gone is a good thing for deer, in my opinion.

Please tell Jim hi for me, he's certainly paid his dues and it's good to see him with the kind of bull he's spent a life time hunting for.
