Curious how much snow you guys got in the higher elevations as well as down low. Wondering if there is enough to push the elk down. Have a friend with a kid that has the late youth any bull tag out there.

Yeah. I have been looking at the maps. I have just been hoping there would be some snow out there at some point.
Thanks for looking around Bessy. Maybe someone else from around there will lend a hand too.

I have a co worker who has been taking his boy out on this hunt very regular since the opener Nov. 29th ??? cant remember the opening date but they have been hitting it hard and see elk here and there has proven to be a tough hunt hoping they can get it done... as they are not hunting private.

Just got back from our last trip out there my boy ended up not getting one on this hunt. We had allot of fun and did see elk each trip there. The best place we had early in the hunt was the refuge we saw bulls almost every morning we hit it. They were always close to the tribal land he had a few chances at smaller bulls and decided to pass. He did miss a nice one a couple weeks ago. This past weekend the refuge had cow hunters all over it never saw a elk. We went up by little mountain and dry fork canyon we saw multiple heards but only 1 small bull which he prob would have taken a shot if we could have got on them. I would try those burned areas above the houses up there tons of tracks those elk should be back. Good luck hope he gets one.

So?

Even the young Youth Hunters have to Tolerate a FRICKEN Cow Hunt right in the middle of their Hunt?

UN-F'N-BELIEVABLE!

Yep I was not really that worried about it but I did not realize they actually had 2-3 different cow hunts going back to back we did get a 2 day jump on them though the first one started dec 1st Like I said it was a fun hunt I wish that it was like the other youth bull and we could have hunted all the open bull units

big blow coming you two for 1 cow hunters , might as well give it up ,,,, spend the money on beef.....( and whiskey)
