That line-up of bucks was from a few years back, But it was a good hunt.
The big WT Buck is one that was taken a few years ago too.
The SD Muley and Coon was a couple of years ago out in West River.
The pheasants on the tailgate was just one little strip of cover in the first 15 minutes of hunting.
This year it was all about pheasants hunting that picture(of all the birds) is what we did in a day(2nd day) with my little hunting party, we did pretty good in 3 day we ended up with 83 birds, we had some super flushes of over 150 birds at the end of some fields(not enough guns to cover most of the fields) got to hunt with a ton of nephews nieces,brothers and family friends, we had guys that hunted a hour or two and guys who stay out all day the size of group changed all day long.
we had snow flurries, 30 mph winds(1 day) 28 degrees on this trip in NOV all and all a good time to be hunting.
On the plus side we jumped some killer WT buck that was in full rut. We jumped a 5x5 that was just massive and had good tine length but deer season wasn't on yet not for a couple of weeks but I know a few nephews and nieces was going back to see if they could find him(they didn't) so he still out there for next year. The winter hasn't been to bad yet up there, so they are looking for a good return of birds next year, they did extend the season 9 days longer( to Jan 9th) this year to try and get more roosters out of the mix but I don't think it had that much of a inpact.
One of nephews was telling me about a feedlot close to them that the rooster's turned that place in a red carpet during the feeding time the said there was about 300 of them in there one day.
Time to start getting ready for the Spring snow goose hunt, The limit is like 20 a day per hunter, 4 hunter = 80 geese That alot shooting.
