WY Elk for 2015

Any info on unit 7 outfitters? In paticular Wapiti Ridge Outfitters. Considering burning my points there. Any suggestions?

A good outfitter there should be getting you on 330-350 bulls on private land. Wagonhound is one of the bigger ones. Check the harvest pics...if they have lots of smaller 270-300 bulls I'd be wary.

I had heard of this outfitter through Huntin Fool but can't get a good feel for them yet.

Have you looked into this much? As wapiti ridge outfitters is on the opposite side of the state from unit 7..They are a wilderness and late season trophy unit around cody outfitter. Great outfitter, but not unit 7

I hunted 7 in 2011 with Wagonhound , fantastic hunt tons of bulls I hunted the late season , a lot of broken bulls due to the high bull to cow ratio ! Overall experience was fantastic you will kill a good bull , if you would like shoot me a PM and we'll talk !

For 7, I'd take Elk Mountain Outfitters over Wagonhound. Both take great animals. However EMO is cheaper than the WH. If you have the points, I'd also look at the Q Creek Ranch in 16 which is one of the largest ranches in the state. They also take some big bulls mostly out in the sage and are a little cheaper than EMO...

Check out elk mountain outfitters out of Wheatland. The Wakkuri's are great people and hunt hard. They have killed some giant bulls too! My dad and a friend had that tag in 08' or 09' and we hunted with them. They killed a couple of respectable bulls in a tough year weather wise. My dad has since been back for a whitetail/antelope hunt with them. They are a top notch outfit. http://www.elkmountainoutfittersllc.com

Thanks for all the info. I will check on all the leads. The guys from Wapiti said he has access and a lease in unit 7. Thats partially why I'm throwing that out there.

I concur with Elk Mountain. Mike and Myron treated me like family. I did not kill a bull but chased a couple of monsters (1st week of sept back in 09). If I ever draw a unit 7 tag again I would go with them.

turkey track . ask for Jerrod. killed a good bull with him several years ago. small outfitter with a good amount of land to hunt.

In 2015 it'll probably take 6.5 points avg points or more in the special draw. In Reg draw, 7.5 avg or more should do it.

Sorry for not getting back with you sooner, I was chasing my youngest son around the state for his hockey team. I'm really interested in your hunt and how it went. Sounds like you were sucessful. Wagonhound seems to pop up when it comes time to talk unit 7. Have you hit any other units in WY that may be a better option? Shoot me a message at your convience.
