Against all odds ... I drew Fishlake Elk at the Expo

Against all odds I totally lucked out and drew a Plateau Fishlake early elk tag at the Expo. I've never hunted the area, but plan on spending plenty of time down there this summer. It's clearly a huge area. I would appreciate those that know the area to point me to some general areas to hunt. From there I'll do plenty of exploring and scouting.

For any haters, just know that I have helped other hunters in the areas that I know.

No! Don't turn the tag back. I'll pay you face-value for the voucher and then get my name on the tag...... so I can go camping with a tag in my pocket.... since there are no elk on the F.L, of course.
I'm pretty sure you don't want it anyway. ha

Plus, I don't think it's fair that I can just get a LE permit and not have to endure a waiting period, notwithstanding Zeke's most generous offer. Since elk won't be on the menu, I guess I can at least point you in the right direction of a great restaurant up there...Bowery Haven.

Congrats...enjoy learning the unit and scouting. Should be a great hunt. From what I hear you have all types of terrain you can chose to hunt depending on your taste. Hoping my boy can draw the muzzleloader tag for this fall.

It's to bad there are only two point bucks left up there and no elk. ;-) At least it is a beautiful area and a lot of good folks up there. Take your pole and you can catch a few fish when you get sick of seeing 290 bulls. Maybe I could take you on a boat ride.
