Utah general muzz Elk hunt

Im kicking around the general muzz elk hunt this year. To those who do it how is it? Are the elk harder to find after the general deer hunt has pushed them around?


Ill have to buy a muzzleloader for it also.

I have no problem finding elk where I muzz hunt . It gets hit fairly hard on the rifle elk. But mostly road hunters. I have never seen another muzz hunter where I go. Once you figure it out it is a great hunt.

It used to be good up until they started letting deer hunters shoot cow elk during the deer rifle season. With the muzz elk season right on the heels of the rifle deer, it makes them tough to locate unless a good storm settles them down. Look for areas where there are fewer cow tags issued so the deer hunters haven't shot at them every time they stuck their heads out.

I just kill em during the rifle elk hunt, then I don't have to worry about sloppy seconds..........
