Hunt for My Dad

Hey guys,

I am working on trying to find my Dad a big bull hunt for 2015, and I thought you guys might know of some possible options.

He has a few preference points in a few states, but in order to get the type of hunt he is looking for I am pretty sure we will need to do some sort of private land hunt. He would really like a hunt where there is an expectation of encountering a 350 plus bull or two. He is 63, but he can still get out and do some hunting. He wants to hunt, not just shoot. I would think there are some ranches out there with 350 plus quality but real hunting is still required. My budget for the hunt is around 12-14K.

If you are willing to offer up any information or suggestions, that would be great.

Trophyhunter,

I have received both of your PMs and appreciate your input. I sent messages back to you, but it was from my I phone so maybe it did not go through?

I will send them again.

Thanks,

Well, it appears we are headed to Nevada to hunt bulls in the Jarbidge Wilderness. We will go DIY, but we may use someone to pack the elk out.

For the type of money spent, there may have been better trophy opportunities elsewhere. However, we could not afford to take time off until Late October/November thus eliminating a lot of other options, and with a LO tag we can go DIY (this is preferred). On top of that, a wilderness type hunt is appealing to both of us.

We don't own stock, so we will need to develop a strategy on how to deal with that, or maybe we will find a friend with stock that might be interested in going with us.

Anyway, I wanted to say thank you to everyone that provided input on this.
