I fishing for any information I can get.

Hunted with my boy along the border of 5bs and 5bn archery a couple years ago. Camped near long lake. Good access, quite a few elk on both units. You should have a fun hunt. Good luck.

The late hunt is not easy in that unit...keep things in perspective and have realistic expectations.

I figured that since there are so many random tags.

But it's hunt elk, in Arizona.

Can anybody tell me if it's worth bringing horses. I haven't NOT brought them on an elk hunt since "99" but since I heard there is lots of access, I thought I'd ask.

You don't need horses. Lots of access. I agree it's a tough hunt.

On late hunts pick a canyon leading off Anderson mesa. There are a bunch of canyons and all are thick and rough.

I also will say "Tough Hunt", Cedars to the North will offer the best Stay away from the burn as Woodcutters will chase bulls out before light ... Go where Quads can't for "SUCESS". Many will say this is an Opportunity elk hunt if LUCKY You'll disagree ... Bruce & SilverGrand
