You live there and asking for someone from outside that area where to go? Good luck in your request, only been there once and that was 27 years ago.
Go down there in the Bitteroots and along the Idaho border is about all I can tell you.

I know a guy, whos uncle, lives there and his uncles best friend hangs out with the cousin of a guy that knows everything about that area, but he doesn't work for free!

take a look around town, I've seen a few bucks in the 180 class right down town. . .

In truth, youre going to have a tough time on here. I did see some photos of a buck that was shot this last season in your area, and boy was he a gagger, cant tell you in what area he was shot because I dont know for sure. What I do know is that the bitterroot has some great bucks!

In the fall of 1978 we cold rolled into that Seeley Lake country and pounded $100 coyote pelts until we got tired of pounding rerod stakes into stone all day long. We saw some dandy muleys and whitetails back then. And enough bear to think there are plenty left. I imagine that area has grown up with high priced homes like many other places across the changing face of Montana. Enjoy your fall of 2008 and be thankful you live in Montana!

I think I can help ya... I live in OH but drove by there once a couple years ago. Head west of Missoula, scout around and look for deer sign. That ought to do it. Good luck. Oh no wait. That was Michigan is was in. Never mind.

Just kidding man. Sorry, couldn't help myselfish.

LAST EDITED ON Feb-10-08 AT 08:50AM (MST)[p]Buy lots of drinks at the local bar after they start getting a tad drunk start asking where they killed their last big buck that should do it. Plus it a good reason to be in the bar during this cold spell.
I like hunting the east side of the state around Fairview.

No big bucks here. The wolves ate them all. And all the elk. And all the wolves that aren't hybrids. Children are next. mtmuley

ismith, Are you referring to our healthy population of mountain lions here in Montana, or the less feared (by GRIZZLIES at least)sports teams somewhere here in the state? mtmuley
