just got my mount back from the taxidermist and am impressed with the work i received on this buck the buck was never shot they are sheds i picked up 3 years ago.

id say freezer burnt
ive seen a few deer mounted that have goofy ears cuz they got freezer burnt and the hair fell out of the inside portion of the ears
