Bucks and does alike always squat to pee. The only time of the year a buck doesn't is during the rut when he will do what's called "rub-urination." They will bring their scent glands on their rear legs together and urinate on them while rubbing them together. A subordinate buck will not do this in the presense of a dominant buck unless he is asking for a butt whooping. Why they do it, I don't know, but it must be something to impress the females.
