Colo. early rifle season questions

Hello fellow hunters! My brother and I are interested in the early high country season. We both have 10 pref. points each. Through DOW information it appears unit 43 and 74 are coveted. Are any others worth looking at? We are hoping for a decent chance at nice bucks. I've called 2 local DOW offices and have heard from 1, Durango. He tells me we should be able to walk into 74 and would probably have to pack into 43 (which is ok). Any suggestions for these areas? Which part of the unit would be better and how to access it? All help appreciated. Thanks!

With 10 points you would be crazy to go with any other units than the ones you have listed. The other early hunts are not worth 10 points. In fact, not even half that.

You should look into the Sangre de Cristo hunt (unit 82) as well. Did that one a few years back. Definately a pack in hunt in very steep country.
