extended archery season

if u have a otc utah gen season tag {archery] can u hunt the extended wasatch mtns during the same dates as the le muzzy hunt in wasatch mtns. i don't mean hunt the le part of the wasatch, i mean the part thats not in the le part of the unit. also how far or how close i should say are the two areas. i have a buddy who wants to tag along on my le hunt but he wanted to hunt the non le areas with his bow and was wondering if it was too far apart between the gen and le parts to do this

Depends what part of the unit you are hunting and what part of the extended he is hunting. You can hunt 10 minutes apart or 3 hours+ it's a really big unit you are on and his is kinda limited to be close. Look at the two maps and you will have a better idea.

The closest areas would be American fork canyon for the LE tag and then the cottonwoods/millcreek area for the OTC buddy. Even that is a solid hour + to get between the 2 area not including hiking time. He could certainly do it though. As you can see they actually cut the Ext area out of the LE area this year.

The problem is that a lot of the elk on the OTC section stay pretty tucked into the Park City side till the snow flies. Yes there are still elk on the SLC side but they are tough.
